Instead of Motivation Monday, here's a little reflection on goals... I have been very productive in my work life but have not run even once this week. The whole balance thing seems to have been thrown out the window. It seems when I'm super productive in one area it's hard to do anything else. Becoming satisfactorily productive in all areas at the same time is quite a feat!
I was talking to my dad the other day and it occurred to me that if an object in motion stays in motion then an object at rest wants to stay at rest? When you go a week (or more) without activity toward your goal the harder and harder it becomes to get back into motion.
Alas, I have to fight inertia just like everyone else. Even just a little push in the right direction might be enough movement to get unstuck. So, today I will push and tomorrow and the next day might be easier as a result.
How about you? Is there an area of your life where you need to give a little push to get the ball rolling?
Here's my push... I just asked Siri... 100 days exactly until my first marathon. Gasp. Well, if a goal doesn't scare you a bit it's not big enough?
